COVID-19 Information

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to develop, we are taking the following steps to help prevent the spread of disease and keep ourselves and our patients safe.

We will maintain our Spring Break office closure from March 20th to March 31st, reopening on the 31st. During the closure, office staff will work limited hours to check messages and mail. As always, the doctors will be available via their confidential voicemails.

When the office reopens on March 31st, we will be conducting appointments by telemedicine using the HIPAA-compliant service

How Does This Work?

Patients should use their computer, tablet, or smartphone enabled with camera and microphone to visit the following link a few minutes before their appointment: for patients of Dr. Allen, and for patients of Dr. Carol. The link will take you to a virtual waiting room. When the doctor is ready to start your appointment, they will pick up the call and the video chat will begin.

What About My Copay?

During your telemedicine appointment, the doctor will ask you for your credit card information so that they can run your card for your copay, coinsurance, deductible, or self pay payment. Payments will continue to be due at time of service.

Patients should keep in mind that not all insurance plans will cover telephone appointments, but many companies are making exceptions and adjustments during this time. We will make every effort to ascertain if a patient has telemedicine benefits before their appointment, but due to long wait times on calls to insurance companies, this may not always be possible.

What About My Prescription?

We will be faxing or calling in prescriptions for you to your normal pharmacy. Please inform us if you are using a new pharmacy (one we have not communicated with in the past). Schedule II controlled substance prescriptions (such as Adderall, Vyvanse, and Concerta), which require a paper script, will be sent out to you via mail after your telemedicine appointments. Please ensure we have the correct address to mail the prescription to!

What About Making Appointments?

Staff will be in the office for limited hours during the outbreak. Please feel free to leave messages on the office voicemail as normal and we will call you back as soon as possible. As always, if you have an urgent need to reach someone, please call your doctor's confidential voicemail.
